Gospel Magic Trick Using Science and Household Items

Here is a Gospel magic trick that teaches the truth that God is powerful!

I am always on the lookout for science experiments that can be turned into a Gospel magic trick.

What you need:
  • 3 plates/dishes
  • 3 paper towels
  • 1 bowl of water
  • 3 pieces of paper
  • 1 lighter/match
  • 3 glass jars or glasses
  • 3 pens or pencils

The trick: Completely wet one paper towel and press it flat down on the plate. Light the piece of paper and let it begin to burn. Place the paper inside the glass and immediately turn it over onto the paper towel. Let the flame burn out, then lift up the glass. The glass will adhere to the paper towel and plate.
Script:
Our Bible verse today says: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
There are so many wonderful things that we can do for God. We can pray that our friends and family members will come to know Him. We can help people out by giving them things that they might need like food or clothing or money. What are some other things we can do for God? (Wait for responses.)
Yes. Those are all great ideas of things we can do for God. And our Bible verse says that ANYTHING we do for God will NEVER be wasted. There is another Bible verse that says “…when we are weak, God is strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:10) So, even if we can only do little things for the Lord, God will still show Himself powerful to all who can see.
Let me show you what I mean…
I have here a plate, a paper towel, and a glass. Let’s let the plate remind you of you.  Now let’s let this paper towel remind us of Jesus whom the Bible calls “the Living Water”. (Immerse paper towel in the water.) I think this name of Jesus reminds us of a water fountain that just keeps giving water and never stops. God gave you His one and only Son, Jesus. (Flatten the paper towel onto the plate.)
Here is a a pretty glass. This glass will remind us of the good work we can do for God.
Here are 3 pieces of paper. (Hold up the piece of paper.) Can I have 3 of you each write an example of a good deed that can be done for God? (Wait for response and write it down on the piece of paper.) Excellent! I will write that good deed on this paper.
Here is a lighter. I am going to light this piece of paper, because another Bible verse says, “Let your light shine before men so they may see your good deeds and praise the Father in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
I am now going to put the good deed in the pretty deed holder.
I am going to turn this work for God over onto the plate, because I want to give to God all that I do for Him.
The light is burning out, but don’t worry, God is still at work. He has taken the good deed that you or I did and can show the world around us that He is strong and powerful!
Now, what will happen if we don’t give our good deeds over to the Lord?  Instead our good works are just all about us. (Take a second plate and place the wet paper towel on it. Light a second piece of paper and place it in a second glass, but don’t turn it over and try and lift the plate. Of course, it won’t work.) Hmm. A Good work plus No connection to God and His Son Jesus equals no power. You see, when we don’t do our good deeds for the Lord, God’s power won’t be able to shine through us.
But if we give our good works to the Lord (Do the whole trick with the 3rd plate and so on…) then God’s power will be seen by those around us and nothing we do for Him will ever be wasted.

Crazy TV Preachers Selling Their Lies

This video has some real wacko preachers. My question is how do Christians get fooled by these charlatans? Also, there is some Jewish dancing.

It is time for the church to humble itself and call upon the name of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 7:14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

How can we influence the world and bring people to Christ when we do the very things they do, dress like them and act like them? Pastors keep calling for revival, but it seems they never call the church to humble themselves.

Here is a stickler for me – the Bible never says anything good about wearing make-up, (“renting the face with paint , ‘ as it is called), yet most” Christian” groups seem to accept it openly and never teach what the Bible clearly says about it. 100 years ago, preachers cried out against this graffiti on the temple of God.

At the turn of the twentieth century, makeup was viewed as something only proud, even arrogant women wore. With the invention of movies and television, Hollywood injected into the limelight the image of a movie starlet’s face covered with cosmetics. Once this image was accepted by the masses, cosmetics became common place. The culture has changed, but the Bible has not.

1 Timothy 2:9-10 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;  But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Vanity—the desire to look more beautiful—is what causes women to paint their faces, and is perhaps the most powerful of human drives.

The Pull of Vanity
Psalm 39:5-6 states, “…verily [truly] every man at his best state is altogether VANITY…Surely every man walks in a VAIN SHOW [an image].” Vanity is a powerful force in all human beings, and it is far stronger than most understand. Each person must have a healthy respect for the pull of vanity at work within him. Be honest with yourself, and admit that this tendency is within you. We will examine it more closely later.

The women who used cosmetics in ancient Sparta were specifically known for being prostitutes: “Women wore brightly colored dresses…They used a lot of cosmetics…which…a woman could do only if she earned her living through prostitution.” (Magna Grecia—An Overview, Prof. Gino Gullace).

The first women to wear makeup were prostitutes! Changing one’s appearance by facial paint is a custom ancient PROSTITUTES have dictated to the modern age. Cosmetics were nothing more than a device used by harlots to, in effect, teach men to break the Seventh Commandment. This is the message of history—yet the whole world lies in ignorance of these facts!

Isaiah 1:4describes Isreal as Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.” Does this not now describe not only America, but even many of those churches that call themselves “Christian?”

It is time for the Christians in this country to humble themselves. Wash their faces, dress in modesty, turn off the television filth that fills our homes, and forsake the riches of Babylon for the goodness of God.

Remember: “There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Prov. 14:1216:25). This warning is for all who have “ears to hear” (Rev. 3:13).

Gospel Magician & Youth Speaker

Object Lessons With A Magical Twist: Gospel Magic with  Dennis Regling
Are you looking for  something fun, educational, and maybe just a little bit different to add to your
programs for youth, children, and even the adults in your congregation? If so,  then I hope you will take the time to read this letter.

My name is Dennis Regling. I’ve  spent most of my life studying three things:

1) How to encourage people to come to know Jesus Christ and understand what He did  for us,
2) How to educate people, helping them internalize important messages,
3) How to  entertain people, especially through the use of object lessons and  illusion.

I have been a Christian since the age of 7. For several years after  college, I lived more like the world, than as a Christian. In February 1995, I
fell in love with my Saviour like never before. Since that day, I have  endeavored to right past wrongs, live the Christian life and win others to Jesus.

I have helped churches build youth programs, preached in several prisons  and juvenile detention centers and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ in 28 states.

As a professional speaker, I have presented educational programs at over 1500  public schools, colleges and libraries. As a missionary to America’s youth, I preach in  juvenile detention centers, prisons, churches and on the streets.

Today’s young  people are hungry for the truth, for direction and for adult role models.
I present gospel magic programs at Vacation Bible Schools, Sunday Schools,  children’s fairs, Bible Camps, picnics, and Christian schools. I also do fair ministry, public outreach programs and soul-winning.

I am available for classes to teach your people ways to be more effective reaching youth of all ages. I specialize in customizing my programs to fit the themes and messages you are  trying hardest to deliver.

Why should you consider using Gospel Magic in your next program? Consider  this: people are naturally curious! Magic shows create an entertaining and non-threatening environment that will bring people of all ages and from all walks of life to your program. Many people wouldn’t even consider walking across
the street to hear a presentation of the gospel or a message from the Bible. However, many of those same people will drive all the way across town to see a  magic show!

Every time I present a program, folks are sure to hear the gospel in a memorable way.
(And yes, I am always certain that everyone knows they are just interesting tricks and not paranormal or supernatural powers.)

I know that planning and managing ministry programs for young people is an  awesome and extremely challenging responsibility. I consider it a privilege to  be led by God in providing assistance to you through special programs, preaching and in training your people to minister to youth.

I appreciate that you took the time to read this letter and I sincerely hope  that I will have the opportunity to work with you in the future.
Your servant in Christ,
Dennis Regling, saved
